About Us
The Basic Research Office (BRO) created this portal, “The Basic Research Xchange,” as a centralized hub for collaboration across our many programs and initiatives. The office is responsible for setting DoD policy for grants, and manages programs including: the Vannevar Bush Faculty Fellowship, the Future Directions Workshops, The Bilateral Academic Research Initiative (BARI), as well as a number of pilot programs meant to rethink the Department’s approach to managing and maturing basic research investments.
